Chapter 11

Who are your Senators and your Congressman?
The U.S. Senators for Tennessee are Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander.
The Congressman for Tennessee is Chuck Fleischmann.
Research the areas they champion and find one you support. What is it and why do you also support it?
I agree with the way that Bob Corker looks at the way an unborn child is. He believes in pro- life. I do think that there are some reasons a woman wants to end the child’s life because of rape or something bad, but I do think that if they would give life to the child there is other people out there that cannot have children that would give the child a good life.
I agree with Lamar Alexander outlook on Americans having affordable insurance. It is hard enough now the way things are and I do think that a lot of Americans doesn’t have health insurance because they cannot afford it something does need to be done to help us out.
I agree with the outlook that Jim Cooper has on foster care. There is a lot of children out there that ends up in foster care and are forgotten or some people doesn’t think they mean much, but they do and having someone trying to watch out for them and make things better is a big difference.

Find an issue one of your Senators or Congressman Champions that you disagree with. Why do you disagree?
I don’t agree with some of Jim Cooper’s outlook on when it comes to helping people out like with the Job Protection and Recession Prevention Act. That could help some of the American people out and I think it is more about who has the money.

  1. I also agree with Bob Corker, for I am pro-life. I know it would be horrible to get raped and become pregnant, but it is not the baby's fault. There are lots of people that would love to have a baby of their own. I also agree with Lamar Alexander and the need for affordable insurance, but something also needs to be done so that someone with a per-existing condition to get coverage without a waiting period.
